14th Annual Iron Dog Challenge

On April 21st 2012, the Chesapeake Police Department invites you and your K-9 partner to participate in the Virginia Police Work Dog Association’s 14th annual Iron Dog Challenge. The Iron Dog Challenge is a rugged 3.5 mile course through Northwest River Park in Chesapeake, Va. The handler and K-9 partner will run this course that has natural and manmade obstacles, water crossings, dog carry, tactical pistol shoot and other endurance challenges. Trophies and medals will be awarded in the following categories:
- Men’s Open
- Women’s Open
- 40 and over
- Soon to be Dust (60 and over)
- Team
- Heavyweight
- Search and Rescue
Iron Dog Walk Through – Friday, April 20th at 5PM, Northwest River Park
Runners can meet at the park or we will have personnel at the hotel to guide them or drive them to the park. We will also be providing dinner and drinks afterward. We would like to keep everyone together. Dinner and drinks will be served at the FOP at 110 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322. There will be van transport back to the hotel that evening.

Rates are $77.00 plus taxes. Reservations must be made by April 1st.
